  1. Hi All,
I am researching two of my great great grandparents, Captain Thomas Wright Smith and Rosa Smith. He was inspector of the pearl shell fisheries and then sailing master at Fremantle Port for roughly 20 years c1897-1917. She was a prominent member of the CWTU and a founder of the Sailors Rest.

    1. Hi I write a weekly story for an online news bulletin called J-Wire and my topic from Australian’s Jewish Past. I am very keen on early Australian Jewish History. This week I wrote about Rosa Smith and have come across your enquiry re your relationship. If you have any further family history as to whether there were any children, that would be excellent to know about. If you go in to J-Wire on the web you will see the story. Ruth

  2. Hi,

I’m trying to find out more information and possibly photos of a maternity hospital on Queen Victoria street Fremantle. I actually lived there as a child for a while, unfortunately the place no longer exists. The only information I have found is that of a murder suicide that happened there in 1938. Any assistance would be appreciated.
